There are a number of benefits from participating in therapy. A therapist is a sounding board, a teacher, and a change agent. Therapy is a safe space to talk about things that you may not have been able to share with others. Your therapist can help educate you on how your history has influenced the way you cope and provide enhanced coping strategies to deal with depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and the stress of daily life.
The benefits you garner from therapy depend on how well you use the process and put into practice what you learn. Some of the benefits available from therapy include:
Developing specific goals based on your values and your desire to improve your life
Learning new ways to cope with stress and anxiety
Managing anger, grief, depression, and other emotional issues
Improving communications skills
Changing old behavior patterns and developing new ones
Discovering new ways to solve problems in your relationships
Improving your self-esteem and boosting self-confidence so you can move towards attaining your identified goals

The best way to determine if we are a fit is to connect for a 15-minute consultation. You can usually get a good sense after that one interaction. However, we recommend committing to at least 2-3 sessions to be sure.
-
The goal of the consultation is to determine whether we are the best fit to go on this journey together. During our call, we will discuss what you’d like to address in therapy, how you would like things in your life to be different or what improvements you’d like to see in the future. We will also answer any questions you have about us, our experience, and our process.

When starting therapy, it is advantageous to meet weekly in order to gain momentum and see results more quickly. We will re-evaluate regularly to see if the pace works for you and adjust accordingly.
Initial sessions are 75-90 minutes. This allows us to complete a more detailed assessment and develop a plan for moving forward. Subsequent sessions are 45-50 minutes. There are times when you may need a longer session depending on the specific goals. We will make recommendations in those instances.

For your convenience, we provide both in-person and online therapy.

Regular sessions range from $225-$300 per session depending on the provider. Sessions may be scheduled for 45 or 55 minutes. Assessment appointments are longer, between 75-90 minutes, and the investment for those one-time appointments are slightly higher. We have limited sliding scale appointments depending on availability. Sliding scale appointments are based on a number of factors. Please ask about those during your consultation appointment.

We do not accept insurance. We are considered an out-of-network provider and can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions to ask:
What are my mental health benefits?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
What is the process for submitting out-of-network claims?

We require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failure to do so will result in charging the full amount since we cannot rebook the hour with short notice. We send out appointment reminders 48 hours in advance so you will have plenty of time to make changes if needed.
